Melanie joined CAN in 2009 as a self-employed staff member and was subsequently employed as Community Development Officer for the Western Area.
Being a Lincolnshire ‘Yellowbelly’ by birth and having also lived and worked in rural west Derbyshire, she has had the extreme good fortune to have ‘run the gamut’ of the private sector (including Marks & Sparks!), the public sector (NHS) and the voluntary and community sector since she got her first wage slip in 1972!!
Since moving to the ‘land of the far horizons’ in 1989, Melanie has enjoyed exciting, varied and stimulating roles with National Park Authority; Links Housing Advice & Information Youth project; Volunteering Tynedale (Tynedale Voluntary Action) and Haltwhistle Partnership.
Having grown up with notion that the Lincolnshire Wolds were about as big as hills got … her walking boots are now put to good use on a regular basis disproving that particular theory !!
