Christine Nicholls

Christine joined our team in June 2010 as a part time Community Development Officer based in our Berwick Office. She is already familiar to a number of communities in the area, through her previous work in Seahouses, Belford and Wooler, in a variety of community development and youth work roles, and writes to introduce herself:

I worked for many years in Community Education for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council as a Youth Development Officer in charge of Detached and Special Projects. I lived in North Yorkshire with my husband and four children. My husband is originally from Morpeth so when our children left for University we decided to move back to the North East.

I worked as a Funding Officer for Youth Clubs North Yorkshire and then a Community Development Worker for the Development Trust in Seahouses.

We had a stint of living in Edinburgh but eventually moved back to the Scottish Borders three years ago. My husband is a retired Professional Mountaineer therefore our interests include Outdoor Activities such as climbing and skiing. We have a yacht near Barcelona and enjoy sailing very much. We also love live theatre, opera and music. We have three sons, one daughter and one grandson and two grand-daughters.
