Parish Council Clerks - PAYE Implementation

PAYE and National Insurance for Parish Clerks

Previously HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) indicated that it was acceptable for tax purposes for parish councils to make these payments to their clerks outside the PAYE Scheme. That tax treatment has now been withdrawn therefore the National Association of Local Council has issued advice based on HMRC discussions.

Parish Precepts - Communications from County Council

December 2010

We have only recently issued the last E-news but thought it important that we give you this update on the possible effects on local councils following the announcement of the Local Government Spending allocations.

Although final figures have not yet been clarified, the result of the announcements so far is that the service provision by the County Council will be considerably affected. Similar challenges are facing every other local authority in the region, and elsewhere.
