Young People in our Communities Conference; 23rd February 2012
Friday, 16 December 2011 11:14

Northumberland Clubs for Young People (NCYP) are excited to announce the details of a conference we are delivering in partnership with Community Action Northumberland (CAN). Download full information and booking form.

The purpose of the event is to update the CAN network on the exciting developments at NCYP and provide an update on wider work with young people across the county. The day will also provide an opportunity to engage in discussion around providing local solutions to the needs and aspirations of young people.

The latest Annual Report for Northumberland Clubs for Young People can be downloaded here. (6MB)

The event is aimed at people NOT currently engaged in developments that support young people - our target audience is all members within the CAN network. This includes members of parish and town councils and committee members and volunteers of village halls/community buildings and Community Associations and groups.

Speakers on the day will be Leon Mexter (Chief Executive of the Regional Youth Work Unit), Stuart Dearlove (Independent Chair of Youth Work Northumberland) and

Jon Niblo (Chief Executive of Northumberland Clubs for Young People)

The event is free for everyone; however places per organisation may have to be limited. Lunch will be provided. The conference programme is attached.

The event aims to:

  •  encourage parish and town councils / community buildings and any other organisations attending to support and develop activities for young people within their locality
  • To engage with organisations not currently involved within this sector
  • To broaden the knowledge of those individuals attending to assist with the development of young people within our communities.
  • Promote funds available to implement such opportunities
