£500 Microgrants Available for Rural Northumberland Groups

Volunteer-led groups in rural Northumberland are invited to apply for Ballinger Charitable Trust Microgrants of £500 to support projects for:

• Older people (55+)
• Young people (approx. ages 5–18)

The funding is aimed at small local projects responding to the challenges facing rural communities, including social isolation, poor transport links, digital exclusion, limited access to services, high living costs, and hidden poverty.

Projects should run between summer 2026 and end of spring 2027.

Applying is simple – just submit a short Expression of Interest outlining your idea and main costs.

Deadline: 11th June 2026

Shortlisted groups will be invited to an informal 10-minute chat with Ballinger Trust trustees on 25th June (backup date 29th June), online or in person. No presentation is required.
