  • CAN recruiting Assistant Domestic Carbon Reduction Officer

    Posted 21st Sep 2023

CAN is recruiting an Assistant Domestic Carbon Reduction Officer Full training provided! With funds secured from the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress scheme, we are busy delivering a two-year project providing advice and support to Northumberland’s off-gas grid residents. The project started in April and we are now ready to recruit an assistant to our Domestic Carbon Reduction Officer. Full training will be provided so we are looking for someone passionate about helping rural households switch to non-fossil fuels and keen to help us make a real difference. The aim of the project is to accelerate the transition to net zero carbon dioxide in Northumberland’s off-gas grid households. As significant carbon emitters, these households have been identified by government as a priority for transition from fossil fuel and yet face the greatest challenge. Households need to understand the best options for their properties in order to make the move to low or zero carbon installations – and they need to have access to a trusted, independent source of advice and support. This is what we are providing through this project – and what we want this new post to help with. The post is full-time and fixed term until February 2025 at this stage with a salary of £23,114. If you are thinking about applying, previous relevant experience isn’t critical – but a passion and drive to make a real difference is! The job description and further information is attached. If you would like a chat before applying, please email our Energy lead, Christine Nicholls, who will arrange a time to chat on the phone. Email: christinenicholls@ca-north.org.uk Closing date for applications is 5.00pm on Friday 6th 2023 Interviews will take place on Wednesday 11th October 2023. — Read more.
