Cook Smarter and Save Energy at Your Local Employment Hub

Northumberland Rural Employment Hubs are more than just a place to get support with job searching—they’re also hosting a series of free, relaxed sessions on cooking smarter and saving energy at home!
Why join us?
- Learn how an air fryer works and get top tips for the best results.
- Discover simple ways to cut your energy use and lower your bills.
- Get information on the Priority Services Register and Carbon Monoxide safety.
- A limited number of free air fryers will be available to take home!
Session details (all 10-11am):
- Thurs 5th Feb – Haltwhistle Community Hub (above Haltwhistle Library)
- Weds 11th Feb – Vision Northumberland, Reiver House, Staithes Lane, Morpeth
- Thurs 19th Feb – Amble Youth Project, Dilston Terrace, Amble
- Weds 25th Feb – The Torch Centre, Corbridge Road, Hexham NE46 1QS
- Fri 27th Feb – Spetchells Centre, Prudhoe
- Fri 27th Feb – Alnwick Playhouse, Bondgate Without, Alnwick NE66 1PQ
These sessions run alongside our regular Employment Hubs, which provide support for unemployed residents in rural Northumberland, helping overcome barriers such as fewer local opportunities, higher travel costs, and limited internet access.
At the hubs, members can access:
- Drop-in support tailored to individual needs, including IT skills, job search planning, and addressing health or social welfare issues.
- Group sessions on CVs, applications, interviews, finances, and staying healthy on a low income.
- A warm and welcoming environment with free tea, coffee, and light lunch, plus travel expenses where needed.
Employment Hub weekly times:
- Alnwick: Fridays, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm at Alnwick Playhouse
- Amble: Thursdays, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm at Amble Youth Project
- Haltwhistle: Thursdays, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm at Haltwhistle Community Hub
- Hexham: Wednesdays, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm at The Torch Centre
- Morpeth: Wednesdays, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm at Vision Northumberland
- Prudhoe: Fridays, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm at Spetchells Centre
